Found a WW2 Military ID bracelet…help me return it!

So with the info on here, I found the registration record for the guy, but it quickly dead-ends.
For those of you better connected with this kinda research, throw me a bone.
I’d love to find the legit next of kin… probably easier with the facebook, but I don’t play that.

I’m confused. I looked up the number. It appears to be for a soldier: Frank R. Poff.
I’m not sure why the different name. I don’t believe the numbers were reissued.

Of course this is not the soldier's service (dog) tag; more likely his wife's or girlfriends remembrance or friendship tag.

This is best I was able to do as you cant get a name by military id.

The eight-digit number 33704649 was a US Army enlisted serial number used during World War II, likely issued to a draftee from the Mid-Atlantic region.

If the military id number is over 62 years old then you can make public request, if under 62 years then only family can make request.

Yes Treasure Hunter, I found that Rabbit Hole, and as I was diving into it, I got all caught up in a Federal “IDme” portal, and it was asking an awful lot of me, I tapped out when they wanted a scan of both sides of my DL and SSN. Got to be an easier way to find the NOK.

Might check with local VFW, might find someone who would help you if you told them what you are doing.

This George W. Albright was born and died in PA... and was in the army in WWII.
Don't know if this helps... but his obit on this page lists some kinfolk.
