Forgot to mention that i found a Civil War buckle under an oak tree root at about 6-7 inches not too far from the left item. So even though it was an early 1900s homeplace, the left item could be dated earlier :)

It's similar to the US sword buckles, but without the side slot like they have.

BTW, the left item (1st set of pics) is hollow and the top "thingy" appears to have been snapped off - not sure what exactly got torn off. Sorry for the fuzzy pics. I'll try to hold the camera still next time :)
