Found my first gold "Locally"

I have been told that there is no gold in this part of the state where I live, well I found some within 40 miles of my house. I panned out enough black sand to cover the bottom of a bucket 2" deep. I brought all the black sand home and ran it through the blue bowl and did pretty good I think for the amount of material that I moved. Now I just need to move more material.

a word of advise that you probly already know, but keep that location to yourself or expect to see a crowd next time you goto that place!it never fails to happen!

Re: Found my first gold "Locally"

Some nice gold ya got there ! I too am finding gold in an area that people said there was none , and Im in a state where there isnt much gold. Just goes to show , it can turn up almost anywhere. And the best thing is that if people think it isnt there then its possible you will have it all to yourself.

Can somebody tell me why the H E double hockey sticks I seem to get red X's most of the time. This is driving me bonkers.

Gramps

Good reminder to get out there and start checking places. I found good gold a mile or three from my house in suburban Denver when others are driving across town or up into the mountains. 1/10 gram in 1.5 hours on the creek...not bad right?!

Nice work that, imagine pulling gold where there isn't any how well you could do where there is a lot.
