Teknetics Delta 4000
Got in a quick 1 &1/2 hour hunt today at the lot next door where an old house used to stand. The home was torn down a few years back, and I have been using this spot as a sort of "training area" with my recently purchased Delta 4000. There is plenty of trash and debris, but I have been digging just about every signal just to get the practice. I haven't been MD'ing as much as when I first bought the machine because of (1) the heat (2) violent thunderstorms that pop up every afternoon [like right this very minute] and (3) the NASTIEST case of poison ivy I have ever had. It took a week of steroids to fight it back and now my left hand looks like some sort of lizard man. Haven't had a case that bad in years. I think my hand looks like this because the itch was so bad I took out my pocket knife and popped all the blisters, then rubbed salt into the wound to try and quell the itch. It was pure misery.

Anyway, got back at it today after I left the antique mall. Dug some unidentifiable iron and brass pieces, plus the 5 or 6 token pulltabs I find on every hunt. Then the Delta rang up a high 70's number and the readout actually said .25, but I was just expecting more trash. What I got was this 1947 Washington Quarter. I think I may have cut George on the cheek getting him out, but I have heard he is a tough old guy with a high threshold for pain. Sorry about that George...

I just want to take the time to thank all the t-net members who have helped me reach this milestone.

I would also like to thank all the "little people" I had to step on to reach the lofty heights that I have now achieved. I couldn't have done it without you.

Columbia is a pretty good little hike from here. Seneca, Greenville, Walhalla, and Anderson, not so much. I drive over to Seneca to play golf at Oconee Country Club occasionally.

i also play golf!! are you my brother by any chance? do you drink bud light too?

see I told you the delta 4000 was good ...-high 70's to 82 is silver dimes , clad dimes . old copper cents and other goodies as well -- anything around 76 -77 is normally a zinc cent (83 or later) or pre 1909 Indain head cent * --82 is often a dime (silver or clad) or older (pre 1983) copper type cent -- mid 80's (85/86) are normally quaters --- 67 / 68 is often 14 k gold while 10 k is 58 --with many pulltabs coming in around 60 .

I like this machine so far. I really appreciate the recommendation. I think I may upgrade my pinpointer next.

I got one word for ya however -- GATORS

I am now removing you from my "friends" list.......

I kid, I kid..... Former Dawg and Gheyter Head Coach Will Muschamp (I have been referring to him as MusCHUMP) will have his work cut out for him this year. Florida is 15 scholarship players under the limit. Be patient and try to give him more time than y'all did "The Zooker". I read an article the other day that said Florida would go "0-fer October" against Bama, LSU, Awebarn, and UGA, but I don't put too much stock in predictions made this early. Too much stuff can happen in between now and then.

GO DAWGS!

I seldom drink any more, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis Bud Light.

Trying to quit the Camel Lights. We really do need to hang out. We can have us a real smokin', drinkin', golfin', and metal dectectin' good time!

do yourself a favor --smoking quit as soon as you can , too late fer me -- 50 years old with COPD --I'll be lucky to see 55 , and gasping for air from now till the end whenever that is. -- I admit I was a stupid fool -- yep its too late fer me , now but you still got a chance. --learn a lil sumpin from a stupid ole fool. might just save yer life --or at least give you a few more healthy years.

Thanks for the advice. I know it was a stupid, stupid, habit to pick up. Quitting has been a real struggle. These things are worse than black tar heroin.
