I wanted to go out after work today for a hunt, but on the way home the bottom dropped out. It rained hard for an hour, and then the sun came out and gave us a double rainbow to see. So I took that as a sign as I quickly loaded my stuff and daughter in the truck. We went back to a spot I went to last week and found a few pieces of silver. First good signal was a very crusty Buffalo. We dug a lot of clad and then found a Rosie in the same hole as a Memorial. Didn't find much after that, a few Wheats and then another Rosie, It started to get dark and thought that would be it for the night when I got a great sounding signal that read 12-44 10-44. I was expecting a clad dime, but it ended up being a 1943 Walker Half! It was on edge and was on the side of the hole and wouldn't you know I kissed it with my digger!
It's in great shape too, pretty bummed about it, but as my kids said as they gave me high fives, at least I found it. My wife asked the other night what I would like to find next and a Walker Half was the first thing I said. I have found a Barber Half and two Franklin Halves. I am thrilled to have found this Walker.
