Found My Oldest American Silver Coin (update-new pic)

Last month the kid and I got another chance to hunt our old Colonial site that's been so good to us. Found a few more silvers, one being my oldest American silver coin. Another big copper, a 1836 Matron Head and my first ever Shield nickel, 1868.
Before our hunt at the Colonial site we hit another site for a quick 1/2 hour hunt and I found my first ever SLQ with a date, 1925.
Back at the Colonial site the kid found his first ever Shield nickel then shorty after I found my Shield nickel. A little bit later and in the same area I flipped a plug and chased my target around in the hole with the pin pointer for what seemed forever. I had no trouble picking it up with the pin pointer, just couldn't find it. When I finally found it I thought I had Spanish silver. When I cleaned it up a little I was glad it wasn't Spanish silver. Lol
1835 Capped Half Dime, a bucket lister for me.
Almost forgot, working our way to the jeep and almost dark. I got a good solid 83-84 hit that screamed silver all the way along side the driveway. Flipped a plug and had a 1939 merc waiting to be saved.
Not a bad day to be out swinging for me, I found 3 first for me and my oldest American silver coin.

Way to go! Early American silver is a really tough find. I'm still waiting for me first capped bust of any denomination.

Congratz on an awesome hunt! I found my first capped bust half dime a couple of weeks ago. Yours looks much better!

Welcome back. What a come back too. The SLQ is killer, but overshadowed by that capped coin. Wow and wow!

Really nice little selection of coins. Congrats.

Incredible hunt,,
Three coins that many hunters may never dig.
A Shield Nickel, a full date 1925 SLQ, and a sweet Half Dime.
Congrats

Congrats on your oldest silver. Keep goin'............Hogge

Wow - sick hunt! Capped bust anything would make my day! You must be pumped!

Really nice silver! I have a colonial honey hole that's been real good to me with the coppers, but I've yet to find a single silver. You give me hope!

Hi; Great finds for both of you. The dime is in XF ( Extra Fine) condition easy. To clean it let it soak in water. Every few days use a wooden toothpick to GENTLY push the dirt out of the small cracks. It will take a little time but it will preserve the coin without ruining it's value ok. Good Luck to both of you. PEACE:RONB

That is one seriously great hunt!! Congrats on the great finds and especially the SLQ with a date!
