Found this today in a park that I had never detected. I don't think the park had ever seen a metal detector. I dug about 40 coins in and hour or so. I will be going back. This looks to me like a 1909 wheat. But it's beat up pretty bad, that soil is like sand paper.
It was about 2 inches deep. I also dug 3Q 3D and 2p all clad from the same hole. All about 6 inches deep and from 1966 to the mid 70's. I think this park will give up some silver.

Not to be a troll but... I just want us not to jump the gun on this one. If you look at any of the pics you can see marks like that all over. It could be just a random pattern. Like looking at clouds, if you look hard you can see almost anything you want. Jeff can you change the light on the coin and see if you can get the V.D.B in better? Then I might be a believer... ;)

Cool find,
Keep @ it and HH!!

I have a feeling you're going to break into the 1800's several time before the years out.

Put that AC up above 75 and try to get the preamp on 3 or more. Watch the signa graph and skip the signals that pop up some bars to the left. Maybe ignor the icons a little. You be digging the old stuff quite often. IMHO
