Just need to make sure your detector works with "•Compatible with 3.5mm ports".

There are conversion jacks.

Mine uses the 1/4" jacks.

Headphones are a key addition to the seasoned THer's arsenal. I wouldn't touch group-on phones for my metal detector with a 10ft divining rod. Get yourself some gray ghosts and call it a day. Heck, I think they have a lifetime on them.. One of the top brands does, and it's worth it.

Yeah but things are tight here. I know spending money on lesser equipment in the long run costs more but it's better than nothing or waiting a few months. My brother(who recently passed away) gave me my machine or I wouldn't have one at all.

I would be careful, especially if they are folding headphones. Garrett has some light weight headphones that I think are $20 or so. I have a pair that I keep as a spare for people and some people like them because they are lighter weight. They are decent headphones for the price, but the cables are light weight. They also have an inline volume control. I prefer them over the stock Garrett headphones that come with their detectors.
