Found this at the beach

Found this at the beach the other day, is it black tourmaline or something else? Thought it was coal at first never seen it before but I'm new to this stuff.

It's not very heavy, Its noticeably lighter then other rocks would be at the same size.

No it's hard as a rock, to be exact was found at a beach on Cape Cod, Mass.

I don't think so cause it doesn't have any other colors or stuff in it from ambergris I've seen online.

Its some kind of rock material its not coal, i find alot of coal as well though. I'm from the Cape too.

Earlier i meant it wasn't charcoal from a fire, but i do believe its either Anthracite Coal or Bituminous Coal.
