Found this mystery inter today. Any ideas friends??

So I hit a very old field today. I've had a lot lof luck in it before. There's tons of item though. Other then the regular pulls like broken iron pieces and nails I managed to recover this piece. What is it?? Appears to have once had two screws in it to hold it onto something. At first I thought maybe pot handle but it's ornate and it's thick. I dunno. Any ideas

It looks like a sword or dagger pommel to me, but the holes are throwing that off.... so.....

It looks like the handle end to an umbrella. It is the end piece to something in that nature.
