Don't try to clean the mud off or you might get arrested for money laundering.
Last year I was hunting the street project where you live and a five dollar bill blew across the street where I was hunting.
I had to chase it for about a half a block.

I work in a sewage works, we find notes all the time.... quite simple just wash the money in water with a bar of soap. Paper money is so very strong, and can stand an amazing amount of punishment.
