When we bought our house, there was a large playground area all covered with sand that was hauled in from the local quarry. I was actually metal detecting in there and found this fossil. I took it to a rock and mineral show in Cedar Rapids and they told me it was some kind of plant. I can't remember what they called it but they said it was a good specimen. It measures 6 3/4 long by 3 1/2 inches wide.
