It is a pin right? I’m not sure if it’s actually marine related or civilian but it may be something special. Also the lettering makes me think newer maybe the early 20th century but that’s just a guess.

I’m really not sure if it’s a pin honestly. It has two tack points that are offset. Almost like they are meant to fold over to attach on something or even stick onto something. The spot where it came from has strong hints of maybe a rebel picket post or something but can’t really prove that.

Someone on Facebook said it is a tobacco tag. I’m looking at them and it seems to be the exact same style, however I can’t find any examples
