Found today in a civil war area

[Cutty]

Not sure what this is but it somehow seems familiar. Found in a farm field surrounded on three sides by Chickamauga Creek in Ringgold. Not sure if its Civil War or farm junk. Any thoughts?

Sure looks like the stuff I dig around here.

[flinthunter]

It looks very similar to an old broken sickle guard off of a mower or combine.

Flinthunter may easily be correct. I have dug similar ones. Gravely tractors used them.

[Cutty]

Thanks, makes sense to me. It was in a field that got mowed for hay. I figured it was farm equipment or a civil war whale harpoon tip!

[smokeythecat]

I hate digging them. Also hate digging plow blades.

[mick56]

Certainly off a sickle mower.

I would LOVE to dig anywhere near Chickamauga creek.
