Found near a old brick factory in Waynesburg Ohio High up on a hill. I thought i could see some writting but i guess not. Both sides a fairly smooth. Tried cleaning with a soft brush. I believe it is copper of some sort. I am thinking some kind of early pendant . It looks like it was made for some necklace . Any help would be appreciated IMG_1572.JPG IMG_1573.JPG

Likely brass. A locket. Maybe as old as turn of the 20th C. The one pictured below is 1890's. Any evidence of gold gilt left on it?

If you give it a good soak you may be able to open it.

From your pics it really looks like there is a seam. Also looks like a dent at the 10 o'clock position in pic #2. If solid copper it would not dent like that.

But I'll have to take your word that it is solid.

Maybe it had something mounted on it... :dontknow:
