Is it just me or do Franklin halves seem to hardly ever pop up as finds here on Tnet? :dontknow:
I don't remember ever seeing one posted. :icon_scratch: I see Kennedy and Walker halves dug, but no Ben.
Just thought I'd throw that out there. :tongue3:

I have 8 here in my stash :hello: I got lucky and found 2 within a short period. The other's I found in circulation. I guess the bigger the coin the harder it is to lose it. Pennies are everywhere but a fifty cent piece is a prize by it's self, especially in the 50's

Never had one in my hand.love to dig one someday. 8)

My mxt said 50 cents once.. I thought here we go...turned out to a nice solid chunk of copper...5900 di pro needle stuck one time on the 50 cent mark ...turned out to be an old brass lock.....about 6 inches deep...

I just dug one last December and posted it on Tnet. Franklyn's are not easy to find. In 25 years of metal detecting I've only dug eleven of them. Actually I have found slightly more walking liberty halves than Franklyn's.

Eleven Franklins is fantastic Mike. I just dug my first half a few months ago and it was a Walker.
I always dig a lot more Mercs than Rosie's too. Weird. :dontknow:

I found a Ben in a roll of halfs last week......Matt

Just my opinion but I'm betting the fact that they were only made for 15 years has alot to do with it. Walking liberty halfs were made for 31 years, Kennedy halves over 40 years, etc.

That could very well be too. Thanks for the info.
