Well we went on a bit of a road trip to Sterling State Park in Monroe Michigan along the shore of Lake Erie. True to the usual Curse of the Road Trip, the metal detecting finds were lacking, but the fun was plentiful. Come along for the fun...

sorry no idea on what the shiny Rock Ben found but definitely a keeper for now.
I wonder if it's Tar. the Decoy makes me wonder ,
did someone think it was real & Blast it with a shotgun .

Well if you ever get a chance to try some White Castles on a roadtrip, get some LOL.
I think you are right about it being tar. Some guys that MD on the ocean beaches get tar balls from time to time. It smells like motor oil.
