Hi all at tnet decided to have a change of scenery today whilst it was hot as hell so headed off for the cover of the local woods i almost gave up after 3 hours of nothing but bottle tops lol when i got a signal over a moss covered rock and it was huge, nevertheless i managed to roll it over using my spade and some brute force and underneath lay 1 coin a french coin 1921, now i was just happy to find a coin so i scanned the hole again before replacing the rock but my detector started going crazy...i dug down 6 inches and in total found 16 coins theyre not in the best of shape and 4 of them have near enough erroded away but heres some pics, not the gold i was dreaming of but itl do for now ;) ps one sneaky erroded coin evaded the picture.

Sounds good. Now study Google Earth to narrow the hunt. Use the 'clock' function to look at every field on each year they took photo's, some cropmarks only show at the best times in the year.

I'm rolling over big rocks from now on..lol. Great find, simply awesome!

Nice haul, looks like you found someones stash.:icon_thumleft:

Cheers guys and thanks for the info il Definately look into using Google the clock function in google earth, didn't know about that, I'm gonna up a new post in a minute guys went out today for two hours and found my first hammered coin going along theedge of a farmers field plus also found an 1842 cent?? Wonder bow it got there'll, as I'm in the UK
