There is a big difference between your button and mine. There isn't much to search for on King XVI 1791. Since he wasn't a famous King, why would they make a button of him? Thanks. I would like to hear more about these buttons. Bill

He was King during the French Revolution so a button is definitely not a surprise, but given yours looks to be thin gilted stamped copper it could date many years later. There's no shortage of interesting misc. items like this and not all have good answers.

Bramblefind Yup, that one is very similar to the button on ebay that you posted. The attachment is very much the same.
