hi everyone , we have found this underwater with our brand new excalibur2, we wanted to share this picts as it look quite historical to me , breteuil seem to be related to a castle , west of paris , the 'baron of breteuil' was a minister of 'louis xiv' . was it related to french west indies colons ??? looks like yes :-\ ??? well if anyone got more clue :sign13: for this one, your answers are welcomed. :read2: lets do some research

unfortunately no internal marks :-\ but small ring , sure women ring

Nice piece of history!!

If this is indeed a ring from the hand of Mademoiselle Gabrielle Émilie Le Tonnelier de Breteuil Marquise du Châtelet, you have truly found an amazing artifact. I read this entire synopsis of her life and found it amazingly fascinating. She was a colleague and lover of Voltaire, among many others, and one of the few women in France at her time who was involved in the sciences at a high level.

I highly recommend the read.
