more rain is forecast tomorrow, so we decided to get a quick one in tonight, we went back to the same field as last night, and yay the tractor was chopping the stubble, so where he lead… we followed 😂 xx

I found this beautiful livery button! Lots of rough lead every where, but saved this roll and obligatory musket ball! A nob…. buttons, a crusty pre dec… and yes.. a silver for me… here you have a George 3rd one from 1816… 😆 xx

Pics of the tractor for the lads… and scenery… you may get bored of seeing the castle, as we may be in this field for some time! But I see it every day and never get tired of it, so you will have to bear with me 😆 xx

Looks like Belvoir Castle. If so, the site dates to around the Battle of Hastings; the castle is awesome, but much newer than 1066. I love your finds and scenery. You don’t need to apologize to me if you show the same scenery a few times. I like it all! Best wishes on all of your hunts.

Spot on! You know your castles! 😆 xx

I have a coin brought over the sea by British immigrants and kept in the family. It looks identical to your silver. It was never in the ground and has a hole near the top of George's head, likely for stringing it. Mine is 3/4 inch in diameter and is dated 1819. I call it a 6 pence but can't remember how I figured out its denomination because there is none on the coin. Likely it was the size.
Just coincidentally my wife's Welsh family immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1819.

If I'm correct on the location of the castle... the locals refer to it as beaver castle...
