Another couple of days hunting the homestead. I've given up on looking for coins, seeing that I've been there 6 times and have only found clad. 2 dimes, and 4 pennys. Someone must have been there coin shooting. But it will be that much better when I do find some. Anyway, lots of stuff. My favorite is the Sad Iron. It has a metal handle, so a little research tells me it was made before 1870.

The original house burned down in 1979. They dug a big whole, and buried what was left of it. The Sad Iron came from there. It was at about 20 inches. No the ATP didn't detect it, I was digging a signal, and it let to another, and another, and another and finally the iron. Can't stop wondering what was in the house when they shoved it in the whole. I'll be busy there for awhile.

If anyone knows anything about that, what I believe is some kind of plowing tooth, please chime in. Haven't done any research on it yet.

Thanks for looking, and good luck with your hunts!

Ah the ever-present triangle plow points. Love that iron!
