Fry Ingot

Does anybody have an knowledge about this ingot? It does not scratch with a fingernail but will lightly with a car key.

The numbers on the back appear to be: JR 8 L 394717

There was an acid test done on this which is the last photo. That was done a while ago but all I remember is that they told me it wasn't silver.

Any help is appreciated!

Lead possibly Im sure if it was gold it would be recognized as gold when you took it for a test

I have found a few lead ingots at old 1800’s early 1900’s sites, but they were fairly crude and no serial number. Lead is soft, can be marked with wood or a stiff fingernail. Where did you find your ingot? Old site? Modern site? Flea market? Metal detecting? If it was scratched by a key (probably brass) it could be nickel, zinc, or some other white metal, but the serial number makes me think something more valuable. Congrats

Looks like a Tin-Lead Solder bar (typically used in a wave-solder machine in the manufacture of electronics)

I found it in my father's items after he passed, he owned a bronze foundry. I did contact the company in New Zealand but haven't heard back yet.
