Good looking finds! :icon_thumleft:

Well, I woke up, it was 4 degrees, been throwing wood in 3 times a day, went hunting yesterday and today, froze my a$$ off. Now we are getting 6-10 inches of more snow this week!!!
Congrats on your finds!! Glad to hear people getting out.

Actually found digging about a foot underground in a fire mound. After a good wash they shine up nicely.

Careful how hard or how you are washing.. patina is desired in some if not most cases.. it shows age and adds character.... and in many cases helps with authentication. washing of dirt is one thing.. you don't want to wash off patina. Things that are thousands of years old should look the part.

They look almost like you put mineral oil on them. It will dry out after a few days if you did. It wont hurt the patina but I just use water and a tooth brush. I use to use a cleaning agent but somebody on here told me it could hurt them. I wonder who I listened too? lol

It's kinda like stripping of soldier of his medals.

NICE FINDS, GREAT TO HEAR OTHERS GETTING THE YOUNGSTERS INVOLVED WITH HEAD HUNTING / METAL DETECTING--HH
