I bought this token on the internet, but can't find any info about it. Does anyone know? There is a 10¢ and a 5¢. Both have the edges shaved, so it's nearly impossible to get an accurate diameter measurement. The seller is from Georgia, if that helps any.

G. Korpal / 716 / Glenwood Ave. // Good For / 10¢ / In Trade Aluminum round?

The 1920 Census shows a George Korpal as being proprietor of a cigar store in South Bend, IN, but I don't see right off that there was a Glenwood Avenue there. I'll do some more checking.

The same George Korpal from South Bend in 1920 looks to be in Detroit in 1930 -

He is listed as a manager of a grocery store in 1930.

The address of 716 Glenwood Ave is associated with a grocery/frozen food store in Pontiac, MI.

In the directories on Ancestry they have it in 1937 as "Glenwood Cash Market" 1945 the address is for "Farm Fresh Frozen Food Lockers".

Since Pontiac, MI is just outside of Detroit perhaps this building was his store :dontknow:

You might want to check out an Atlanta GA connection. As a child, I lived at 309 Glenwood Ave. Good luck

Jax--716 Glenwood Ave. in Atlanta, GA looks pretty residential.
