I think, fist sized meteorites could be found with the eagle eye, however, it depends on how deep and what the meateorites are composed of. The ones I have in my collection, are high in nickel. I think most of the guys hunting meteorites prefer a PI metal detector over a VLF. You simple get better depth, very few to none issues with mineralization in the dirt and are more sensitive to the meteorites in general......depending on their composition. If it was me, I would at least use a metal detector designed for gold searching, as it was probably teaked somewhat to respond better to the nickel range where gold can also be found. If I went meteorite hunting, I would take along my Garrett ATX. and if depth were a serious requirement, I would use the large coil.
On the plus side of the Eagle Eye....it would ignore coin sized objects, but why restrict the size of meteorites you are searching for?
