The AT-Pro is waterproof to 10 ft. But the stock headphones are not. They can take a little sprinkling of rain but that's about it. If I were you I would either wear them under a rain hood or cover them with a clear plastic bag.

I am trying all. Picking coins up from 2 to 7 inches. Wet works great too but there too many people walking around the wet so I moved to dry. Even though its not a good dam day for the beach. People here are dying to lose things so I can pickem up ha ha ha.

I used the auto ground balance it works well for wet sand.

I have the RTG Beachmaster #700.
I had mine made in all stainless because it is a lot stronger and doesn't rust or pit up.
The screen basket on the back sifts dry sand out super quickly and the metal band behind the basket keeps you from crushing the basket with your foot when you use it to dig deeper or dig in wet sand.
There are cheaper ones out there and you can look on YouTube and try to make your own.

But to save money in the long run, buy the right scoop the first time. Just like you found out with your metal detector.


I have found that this style scoop works the best if you are going to use one scoop for both wet and dry sand.
But you need the stainless one. The aluminum one will bend and the basket will get crushed.
Just like metal detectors, there are better ones for hunting wet sand and shallow water but I have found that this style works best for only using one scoop for both situations.

What beach Yukon. Ill be trying it in the Rockaways this weekend. I put it together last night. It is a whole light lighter then my whites beach hunter, but it also feels kinda cheap and plastic. None of that matters if the thing works great though. I tried to test it in my apartment, but it was going full on wonky. then i read in the manual that it wont work well in a home because of all the electrical wiring, plumbing etc in the floors, which makes sense. It did the coin waving test and it seems to work great. Ill see if I can get out to mccarren park tonight for a quick test.

See my post from yesterday re: VMI class ring. This thing was a big, honking ring made of 10K gold. I would have thought it to be around 55 or so but it was a solid 80. Before going in the water after it, I tested an identical ring in 14K gold and it jumped between 78 and 81. The only way I found the lost ring was by eliminating everything under 70. Just don't take anything for granted and have fun.

Your right on the money man. I had to quit and go home my right foot and toe hurts from all the weight I am applying when bending.
