Gems while panning

Lots of small garnet and topaz here in south Denver.

Garnet in Oklahoma

Lol any Garnets big enough to cut

Do you guys keep them?

Garnet,tourmaline,amethyst,topaz,beryl -----New Hampshire

Anywhere west of Denver, Garnets seem the most, followed by anything from Aquamarine to Smokey quartz. Keep an eye on what you "trash" as large rocks while you're classifying, before actually panning. Gold sticks to mud and gems can look muddy and worthless too.

If you all don't want to deal with all those pesky pretty rocks that clutter up your' Gold Pans, then just send them to me.8-)

saphires and an occasional rubie

Pirate Idaho---the Gem state

Garnet, zircon and rutile in Maryland, but garnets and zircons are micros. Rutile can get quite large and makes good cabs.

I only find dirty yellow rocks.
