That George Washington half wasn’t made for circulation. Someone cracked it out of the plastic holder. They only made uncirculated and proofs in ‘82, and both came in holders.

That is true, I have one of each in my collection. Same with the 1 oz silver eagles, they come in plastic, but easy to remove
