Stalked While Detecting IF the property Boarders the Park
property. & they will be sure you see them doing it
for intimidation purposes.

but you should have no problem if your not near.

I was wondering because I have permission to hunt a farm in the path of the confederate retreat. There is family history on the farm and no one in the family has ever cared to hunt for anything in there fields. It has never been hunted! It is pretty far from the battle field so I don't expect any problems. I really want to do more research on the place before I go there.

The only watch-out might be if the property is on the National Register of Historic Places. If it is, you can dig a hole to plant a tree or flower, or whatever, but no recovering historical artifacts. Falls under the jurisdiction of the National Parks system or some-such if I recall correctly

Thanks for the replies.

He sent me the address today and the property is well outside of Gettysburg. Probably about a half hour or more southeast. He also said it was built between 1850 and 1875 :)

But with only one day to hunt lets pray to the MD gods to hold off the rain on Friday.

<praying>

Yeah I was beginning to think it may have already been hunted. The house was actually closer to littlestown.

I had to have some discrimination on. The current owners had recently torn down a barn and a few outbuildings which resulted in metal and nails being strewn everywhere. The site was also littered with pulltabs. The owner laughed when I told him this and relayed that the barn they had torn down was filled with beer cans when they bought the property.

With some time this site might yeild something with some persistance, but I doubt I'll be back. Our trips back home to PA are few (3 or 4 times a year) and I have some other sites I'd rather concentrate on.
