That is a great tool. The richness of the chert/flint deposits in Texas is cool, a piece like that would have been reworked multiple times (by the same group, or later groups) in some of the lithic poor areas of the US.

I used to hunt a Hornstone quarry in Southern Indiana and there were more flint knappers that hunted the site looking for spalls they could work than relic collectors.
 

Yeah I am super lucky to live & hunt here...Lots of lithics.....This one is worked nearly all the way round.A first for me that large.Thanx..

Good to hear from ya buddy........To me it seems to be a big multi-tool....Scrapeing edge,cutting edge,and one part with many stacks.So also chopper mayhaps.
