Spent all one summer everyday back in /77 redoing this family clock.
It hung in the kitchen well before I came along, kept regular ticking (sort of).
Then came a day it stopped, and it just hung there.
I was off with an injury so I sat there and restored it.
There was so much porch paint, of many colours on the case that the scroll work was gone mostly.
The heat of the wood stoves drew the pitch into the design and filled the voids. So I took a large darning needle and picked and picked.
The result was ok-a keeper-in storage but it'll have a future home once again we get finished here.
