going on vacation, please help

i am going down to kiawah island in south Carolina this month. while we are there i am going to visit Savannah Georgia and Charleston south Carlina. i know they are both very historic towns. so i was wondering is there any law there prohibiting metal detecting?

I would check with the local PD when you get there, then you will be covered in the event some irate citizen makes the call
