This morning started out with my brother and I driving an hour to hunt for his mother-in-law's pinky diamond ring. She was clearing brush one day without gloves and lost the ring. We checked several spots and a few fire pits. It could have been anywhere. Needless to say, we didn't find it.

After I came home, I went back out to an Elementary school with my boys. We found a silver earring (.925) and what I hope is a real diamond earring. (I'll have it checked in the morning.)

Thanks for looking.

I know your heart was pounding when you found the stone earring. Sorry it wasn't a diamond. Better luck next time. Love the photos too! Share your technique please! ;D

Happy Hunting,

Trescher, your lightbox is great! The instructions were concise and easy to understand. I'm going to try to make myself one, maybe a little smaller. I've been wanting to buy one but wanted to see one in person first. This is even better, I can make one to fit my specific needs. Wish I had one years ago when I was taking photos to go with magazine articles. Hey, if I'm successful with making a box, maybe I'll start writing again...I've got a digital camera now AND soon I will have a lightbox. Hmmm, this is getting me thinking about the nice little checks I used to get from magazine publishers....of course, taking up writing again would cut into my TNet time and I wouldn't like that. LOL

Thanks Trescher, you're the best!!!!

If you do not wish to pay to get it appraised, get a black light, and the diamond "glows" (kind of like bluish).

Nice finds!
