Hi all, been wetest year on record and the local gold feild is more like a swamp. Lots of leaches and mozzies. few snakes and lots of other bitey type things. water is very brackish and smells awful. Any way hunted where i could. Mostly high ground and dam banks and tailing heeps. Found a nice 2 gram piece , few buttons and this larger 1855 penny. Happy to get out for a few hours more rain on the way. :( :( :(.

Nice gold ! If things go as normal then in a month or so it will be so dry that you will be able to walk across were the water is now.
But you are right it is full up , I bet it was hard to work that site .
