Gold grabbing walking drill stick

Hello fellers. I made myself a hiking stick for testing parts of creeks and dry areas for black sand pockets. I have about 8" of n-52 hollowed neodymium magnets that I pressed into a section of thin walled 1/2" pvc that has a 50" length of hot rolled steel rod that I threaded on both ends. There are 3 pancake magnets JB welded to the bottom end of a washer that is the same outside diameter of the thin walled pvc . The rod and thin walled 1/2" pipe assembly is inserted into a piece of 3/4" pvc. I found a section of a hollow fiberglass handle from a rake that I had that slides perfectly over the 3/4" pipe, that is threaded at the end with a bushing I threaded as well. The bottom pvc end cap has a thick steel washer with a rubber protective washer on top of it to prevent the pancake magnets from getting crushed, incase it took a header off of a cliff. A rubber plug was also inserted inside of the 1/2" pipe at the top end of the mag tube to cushion from hard blows, protecting the magnets as well, incase I had to jab a grizzly bear in the throat with extreme force. My magnets should be protected.(lol!)
The bushing on top allows me to put my cordless drill on the end, put the stick into a 5 gal. bucket, and spin and release the light material off into the bucket, holding on to the black sand, dry material, of course, from the stuff I've brought home with me. With one hand over the stick 1/3rd the way up, I pull the yellow rake handle up, and the black sand drops into my pan.
I didn't come up with this idea. I saw the "Spin it Off" deal that they sell, and decided to make something that makes it a little more utility. Just thought I'd share this with you folks. It works great for finding them black sand pockets.
