Gold in quartz.

A good friend of mine gave me this piece of quartz with gold in it. He passed away several years ago. The gold color looks too gold? Just wondering if it’s real gold. Thanks. Pictures really do not do it justice

Looks like gold to me. I'm sorry for the loss of your friend, but you have that item to remember the person by.
You could always test a small streak of it using a gold test kit (cheap on Amazon).

Here's my one sample for comparison (quartz is about the size of a half-dollar). I bought it from a friend hard-rock miner in CA.
The gold really jumps out. Gold is just very....gold. It's probably why ancient people were first attracted to it.
