Gold Ore

A little sample that was found with a metal detector. Crushed by hand then panned to wash away some of the dirt and clay? The photo is macro so real small particles, but the quartz shows and what looks like iron and free gold. I think we need a small smelter to retrieve the values trying to speed up the recovery what's your thoughts ?

Like the project you got going. Question what's the orange motor for? Looks like a concrete vibrator. Mixing a vibration in with the stroke on the table?

Just a thought here remember you are introducing a different frequency range (the orange motor vibration with different speeds you control) super imposed on the same plane or cycle through the plane that the stroke frequency is on. Each frequency will effect different minerals / sizes of particles possibility effecting the pattern movement of what you are trying to catch on that single plane.

If you have both high speed and lower speed cameras you will be able to see some or all of this for your self.

You will have to fine tune to measure the effect or out come that is good for your set up. There could be some charts out there about frequency effects on different materials.

The expression nip it in the bud means to put a quick end to something. This phrase comes from the garden but has branched out. When a leaf or flower is beginning to form, it's just a little bud, and if you nip it — cut it — then it won't grow. You nip it in the bud.

Just a trickle of water but my son was able to sluice a little last night. Not a good photo but there's a lot of micro gold in the pan along with a few pieces.

Many people feel lucky just to get the micro values and not the pickers that are shown.

It's amazing how much gold is in this seasonal drainage still washing in some years. We love big storms always some treasure waiting.

Just a trickle of water building small dams to sluice and pan with. But there's enough water to wash the mud off the metal detector finds. You got to love waste piles

Don't have one but have read that drop riffle sluices work well even in low flow situations. Some online are only 24 to 30" long.

Unbelievable!!! I'm slowly working my way through a 40xx 10 x 2 foot waste pile. I sure wish I could find something like that. But if I'm lucky I'll just find one nor two rocks still loaded with the micro fine stuff.

We took my mini 12 volt high banker down on one of the tailing piles below the house. And ran a five bucket test in a couple of spots. Little bits and micro gold my son did the shoveling I washed rocks both spots produced about the same we are chasing the bed rock from the edge going under the tailing piles. I'm glad it's battery powered it would be hard to pay for gas and lunch but fun I got cold and quit for the day. My son is chasing signals in the slate bedrock rain on the way. My son just called and the signal he was chasing ended up being two little pickers.

Looks like you're getting a lot better placer gold than our club claim is producing; about 10 times better.

Crushing some small metal detector finds with mortar and pestle this morning. Loaded with gold hiding in the oxidized rock and red sands. When I look with a loupe there's micro gold all through the heavy red sands.
