Well, I can't say that it was a great day for finds, but I was so close to finding my first gold ring! I saw a glint of gold and tried wiping away the "dirt." Well, the "dirt" is just the metal under the mostly worn away gold plating. Dang! The scratches on the "stone" tells me that it is probably glass. Oh well, maybe next time! Other items included. At least I was outside most of the day! Take care.

I've had both scenarios play out before. Found a "fake" ring and thought it was gold, and found real gold and thought it was a "play" ring. Ya just never know when the good stuff will be found. Keep at it!!

If you’re running Windows XP, the easiest way to resize pictures is to download the Image Resizer from
Microsoft PowerToys for Windows XP. You can get it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

It puts an option to resize pictures in the right click menu, you just select the size you want, and it will save a resized copy of the original in the same folder as the original photo.
