Had one of my best days this year today. Hunted just off the road where there used to be an old ballfield. Some coins were deep and some were right on top of the ground just under the leaves. Some coins were in pretty good shape when they came out of the ground and others were in terrible condition and couldn't be improved upon no matter what I tried. It was difficult for me to get good pics of these coins. But here they are. 14 in all.

2 Barber Quarters: 122211 001.webp

5 Barber Dimes: 122211 002.webp

7 Mercs:122211 003.webp

This brings my total silver count for this year to 213. My total silver count since I started metal detecting is now 39,988. This does not include silver found in competition hunts (2,682).

Wow!! Nice silver haul! :headbang: :icon_thumright:

Nice finds. Your life totals are impressive, roughly 20 silvers a week for 40 yrs. Not accounting for frozen ground.

Almost 40,000 silvers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wow :notworthy: That's amazing. Great job, Dan

Wow simply amazing.. congrats going over 200!

Unfreakinbelievable the total amount of silver to date!!!39,900 to go :laughing7: Congratulation's

How many years have you been hunting? 40,000 silvers is a heck of a lot of silver ::) A big celebration is in store for sure. Nice hunt and I'm sure there is a lot more waiting there for you. :icon_sunny:

wow that's awesome :headbang: :headbang:

3 silvers in six months....catching up

Thanks guys for the nice comments. I know it's hard to believe my silver totals. I've been detecting for 33 years and I've been extremely lucky. About 11,000 of my silver finds were made one or two at a time, like everybody else. Oh, I have found a few pocket spills and small caches of up to 22 silvers over the years. But the rest of my silvers, some 29,000, were found in a series of caches during a three year period from 2002 to 2005. The last one was found in March or 2005. I posted it on Treasurenet and for awhile it was listed on the "Best Of Treasurenet" forum. Everything I find now is just gravy on the mashed potatoes and I still enjoy the hobby. Good luck and happy hunting.

I'm impressed. Must have been a great day to find that many coins and that many nice ones at that! :icon_thumleft:

Hey Bob, I've been wondering where you have been!! Nice one day haul! Hope it is a new spot that continues to produce! Merry christmas!

Great finds for sure. Almost 40,000 is crazy numbers. WOW! :icon_thumright:

Thats a good retirement..... 40,000 silver coins! :icon_thumright:

GREAT LIFETIME TOTALS!!!!! No wonder I can't find any!!!! You got them all!!!! :)
Can you tell about the cache's, just a little info, i.e. how many caches, and about how many coins in each cache. (Were the caches
all a part of one person's efforts to hide some silver? Or were there several different folks hiding silver? Thanks for revisiting
your stories for us who weren't on the net several years ago. AND pics if you have them, would be genuinely appreciated.)

Yo Deb, Nice to hear from you again. I was beating myself up playing softball during the Fall. Didn't finish up until Nov 4. Then I spent a month rehabbing the resultant injuries. Finished that just in time for my annual ski trip to Snowbird and Alta, Utah. Yes, the "new" spot did produce some more silver. I went there Saturday and found another merc and another Barber dime. How are things down there in Fla? Merry Christmas and happy new year to you too.

Bob
