yes i noticed that spent hours looking on the net fund a few coins that were close but still differnt.Wish I could read it

well through alot of research and help from a coin expert i found out this is a coin from the ottoman empire from libya.denomination is a para and is made of bronze.it is an issue of mahmud witch he ruled between 1808 and 1839 ad.The real question is how it got here in maryland?thank for the help

People lose things all the time, in the darnest and weirdest places, especially kids....

I brought some Duits from Holland to school for show and tell in the 3rd grade (75-76) at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho and lost some of them. So someone has had to have found them by now and wonder why a pocket spill of Dutch coins from the 1700's are in Idaho.

Lost different variations/dates of this coin, this is the only one I still have.

For easier comparison I orientated them in the right directions. Top picture is definitely in the correct orientation (The design on the bottom is numbers), bottom picture orientation is a guess right now.

thanks sarge I try and catalog. my finds and print out description when i can so when i pass them down my family will no what there looking at. I never sell anything I love the history of it all.
