Good finds today

We got some good hits on the metal detectors today and started digging. Found some awesome banners, copper spears and and axe or two. I'll post more later, but we're still at it.

Lol. They are Muck Boots, and probably the worst pair I've ever bought.

So you used a metal detector to find where dig?? Have you ever had any luck on other sights doing that or just this one cause you've done found copper

This is actually the first one where I've used a metal detector. When we hit copper, we start thin slicing the dirt until we hit something. Most of the time its raw nuggets but sometimes we find the stuff like in the pictures above. This was the first thing I found today, and i believe it's a stone ear plug with copper formed around the end. Never seen one like it before:

Man that's cool .... I dont think I'd ever leave.... I was thinking about a metal detector the other day but dont know how much copper would be around here. Anyways life's a garden keep diggin it brother

You have now found 2 excellent bannerstones at one site. I believe that is a good site.

The ear plug could also be a lip plug if you didn't find 2 of them.

We only found one. The end is about the size of a nickel, but I guess they could use it as a lip plug. I've never seen one with the copper molded over the end. We found some really cool stuff today.

It seems to be part of their motif. I think we've found around 10 all told in the same area. The large one is strange looking, but very well made.
