Hey folks!

I got it to a few sites with my friend Mike today. All things considered, it was pretty productive! No silver to speak of unfortunately, but I did find two crusty Indian head pennies and an 1899 V nickel. Also found a hem weight. Fun start to the weekend!

Have some nice hunts this weekend and happy father’s day to all the dads on here!

I have a special fondness for especially crusty coins. I understand how they feel.

Odd to see a V-nickel in far better shape than 2 Indians, but great finds regardless!

Looks like your V Nickel is in pretty good shape. Those Indian's have been around the block a few times !

Thank you! Yeah, there Indians both came from a saltwater beach hence their condition. The V came from a house tearout in the dirt a couple inches deep. One of my nicest V Nickels I think!

Do you have a recommendation? I put them both in vinegar and baking soda for a while and this is all that happened. Not sure what more I can do without totally roaching them.

I'm not a expert by any means but I soak mine in lemon juice for 5 minutes at a time and rinse for a maximum of two soakings. Regardless of the outcome I leave them alone after that. GL

Thanks! I’ll give that a shot on my next crusty coins
