Maybe not as productive as other peoples spots but a solid day for me was hoping for one full but it got hot and I was getting sloppy so I left before I started missing things
Got two pieces of pottery, cord wrapped shell tempered
What would have been a beautiful point very thin and well made, was really hoping a base would come up
And finally a fat ugly tip haha

Crops have been out for a couple months, it’s been 100+ and bone dry, no rain to expose new artifacts, this spot is on a bluff, digging through the kitchen trash it appears. Here’s a burnt section of bone I also recovered this weekend from a larger animal deer or Buffalo that has cut marks, they are a little harder to see. Good proof of human activity vs animals dying naturally in this spot.

Added a broke, probably a jug hill, and a deer bone with cut marks View attachment 2038388 View attachment 2038389
I love the kitchen dump stuff, especially the bones with butcher marks. I was fortunate enough to help on an archaeological dig in my teens. It was a pilot whale skeleton and the butchering marks really hit home. It was a lot of food for a big group of people. They were probably excited about a high fat feast and likely everyone in the group helped process it. Pretty cool stuff! Nice finds!
