This thing is driving my Falcon MD20 nuts. What in the hell is it?

Can't see luster on #1, take a pic when dry.

Again, is it wet? First guess would be some sort of sulphide/oxide. But depending on luster, that [guess] might change.

Will a knife scratch #1? I'm thinking maybe calcite or some sort of feldspar-like mineral. (feldspathoid?)
If calcite, a knife will scratch it.

#2 looks like country rock. Greenstone(?) and some felsic rock.

#3 Weathered granitoid is my best guess.

Found in a creek bed in Richmond, Virginia. I believe the rock was dumped there were they dredged the James River. Smoky quartz?

It’s a very large rock that weighs about 80 pounds.

Quartz crystals, indeed. Doubtful I'd call that smoky.

Went down to the river to try out my new grizzly gold trap. Didn't find any gold, but found a few odd things.

This stuff drives the MD20 mad, it's not magnetic and it streaks metallic grey


I thought this stuff was gold in the sunlight because of the color, the MD20 doesn't pick it up, but it streaks yellow. Looks weird once zoomed in on in the pics?

Also knocked a piece of this thing off and hammered it to try to find visible gold/silver/ect and found this yellowish crystal in it. Is it just Quartz? I was told it's a volcano turd, drives the md20 nuts so I'm gonna crush the whole thing up once I get access to the crusher.

I believe the blue one is Sodalite or possibly Lapis Lazuli but it looks more like Sodalite. The red or orange one looks like dyed agate or onyx maybe. No help on the other 2.

Such small stuff can be ridiculously hard to ID. I'd not bother, if I were you. Unless you find heaps of it, or, larger pieces.

First one, no idea.

But since you asked:
Yellow streak can indicate limonite, I think.

Last one: Lead shot.

Not sure what that is. Looks odd. Kinda has a slag like look to it; but then, not quite right for that either.

Green: Malachite
Pinkish: Rhodochrosite
Blue: Lapis Lazuli

Not sure on the last one.
