I hardly ever get more than 2 to 3 hours per hunt in but I'll be cooped up for a few days so I went for the whole afternoon. I didn't even clean these goodies off as you can see.. cause' I'm going to be late for work. :tongue3: I figured I'd give the 10 x 14 Excelerator coil a spin today...and man did it pick some goodies out of a pretty trashy area... AND on edge. The first thing I dug was a merc down about 8" ...the pressure was gone now...cause' I would have been VERY happy with just one silver coin from this ball diamond. :D It has been beat to death for 30 years by every detectorist known to man...AND his dog. About 45 minutes later I got a very sweet sounding "bouncer" accross the top...BUT it kept weaseling it's way back to the top right corner...so I dug. Out popped the SLQ ...yippee! After that...coins just kept popping out. Most of these coins were on edge or at least tilted...but this coil always finds me something because "on edge" coins are it's specialty. Dug quite a few wheaties...the wedding band...2 mercs...2 roosevelts...the SLQ...the saq. dollar coin...and the sterling silver charm. A 5 silver afternoon ...that almost never happens anymore at the worn out sites I hunt. I sincerely am happy if I can find just ONE silver coin at my beat up sites. Since last Sunday's trip to St. Louis...this gives me 10 silvers in a week. Man I LOVE this hobby. :icon_sunny: One of my main goals this year is to find a SLQ with a date. After 30 years of hunting...still don't have one. ::) This one is STILL a thrill as is ANY slq...cause' they don't pop out often. This is only my second one in the last 5 years...so I'm thankful :angel7:

WTG again Bryce, you sure know how to make the most of any site you happen to be at.

Does that charm say what I think it says? Too funny.

Nat
Thanks Nat. As for the charm...yep'...you nailed it...it says what you think it does ;D

 WTG Bryce. Glad to see you got out on another good hunt. I need to know your settings. You are the Silver King.

Bryce, another fantastic hunt for you!! You should get an award for the person who makes the most of his detecting time.

Congrats on another SLQ. I've been lucky this year so far, as both of my SLQ's have dates on them. I think someone got rid of that charm because they didn't give a S##T. ;D

Good job, my friend!!

Great finds Bryce. Good luck with that dated SLQ. I have been looking at getting a second coil for my SE. The sunray 8 inch looks to be a good choice or I have seen you and several other people use the EX2 coil on the SE. Don't know too much about the excelerator coils still learning. I am still working on those deep signals, got several at an old park the other day, one way high tones. When I flipped the plug could not find a signal again. Dug deeper and no signal with the probe so I gave up. Thanks for your help.
JDD
Thanks JDD. That Sunray 8" is a good coil and most swear by it. Me personally...I kept my 6" Excelerator coil and sold both the minelab 800 coil and the sunray 8" coil. I found more deep coins in trash last year with that 6" Excelerator coil than any other. I can't tell you how many 8" to 9" deep injuns and silver dimes I dug right IN trash using that coil last year. Don't get me wrong...the 8" sunray is a great coil and so is the minelab 800...but for my hunting style and settings here in IL...the 6" excelerator is a killer.

Wow, nice work! I agree those SLQ's are few and far in between.

Yeah, nice haul. Maybe you should have saved some for next week. ;D Maybe some for the next guy and his dog. :D Yeah, those SLQ's are nice even without dates.

Bob

Thanks Bob. I would love to find one with a date on it...but oh well ???
Good luck on your next hunt bro. I always watch for your posts.

Way to go Silver Stud!!! Some very nice finds Bryce.
I'll take an all day hunt any day.
Congrats,

Wow I wish I knew my machine as well as you seem to know yours! I went with a smaller coil not larger. Guess I need a larger one now too........... ::) :D

Great finds those are definitely worth being proud of!
Thanks. I always pound a place with the 1050 coil...then hit it again with the 6" excelerator...then one more time with either the 10 x 14 or the 12" excelerator.

Nice wilver recoveries, big guy! You are kicking some buttocks with that machine lately.

No wilver can hide from your sweep coil!

Kyle
Thanks Kyle. If that guy doesn't mow the ballfield a little more often...I might have to kick HIM in the buttocks

Thanks Bruce. I'm not the Silver King.....way too many good hunters out there. I would say Dan Captn_SE is the silver king...and compared to him I would be the silver peanut ;D
HOWEVER...the silver peanut doesn't have the nice ring to it like Silverfreak does  ...and I DO love finding silver.

Thanks Dan. You are right about the charm...they must not have given a s##t...because the loop that held the charm to the necklace or bracelet looks to be intact. The chain or bracelet must have broken..and believe me...I l@@ked all over for it ;D

Way to go on the "silver "coins and rings. How deep were they and where on the field do they show up? I hunted some ball fields with poor results but maybe I am hunting the wrong areas.
