Yeah...I think I would be staying away from that...considering Australia has more poisonous spiders and snakes then any other country...be safe!

Re: "got in a fight with a 2 inch spider and tonights finds"

DOH i hate the ones that can kill you ;)

You are lucky you didn't get bit....

Looks like a Wolf spider. His venom will dissolve flesh. Was bitten by a Brown Recluse which is similar. Got me right through a cotton glove. My hand looked like a catchers mitt after 3 days. Heavy duty antibiotics saved my hand. Doc already contacted the hospital and had them on call to expect me, but I was lucky that the spider didn't get his fangs into my flesh deep enough. The swelling subsided and I was OK after a week or so.

Lets be careful out there!!!!!

You made a good choice. I think I would leave that spider alone.

I leave 'em alone when they're outdoors. We get the big 'ol wolf spiders like that here. Our front porch is treated wood and open and I can see their eyes reflecting in the porch light at night when I let the dog out. You know a spiders' big when you can see all it's lights shining (though it seems only four of the eight reflect). I had one in the garage I thought was a mouse. Big girl! (Somewhere I heard the big ones are females). I think you'd really have to torment one quite a lot to get bit. A "friend" of mine delights in picking them up and showing them to unsuspecting victims. My wife's pet name for him is "a$$hole".

I admire 'em, and when I get done screeming like a 10 year old girl and climb back down from the nearest tree I let them go their way and I go mine.

We were camping on the Outer Banks in the Carolinas and a "Dune Spider" visited our campsite. I thought it was a clump of beach grass until it moved! Hoe Lee Crap! Somewhere I have a picture of it beside a 3-1/2" Swiss Army Knife and it's legs go past either end! Just a big variety of wolf spider per the park ranger. I honestly didn't know spiders got that big except tarantulas out west.

Lucky I argee with ya, I can stand any other critters in this world but not a spider.

As long as they aren`t in my way there safe, if there in my way the old motto is "Only good spider is a dead spider". Never seen a spider in a war with a size 10 come out the winner.

I need to add this as an afterthought to my above: If i ever do see a spider win a war against a size 10, I can betya sweet bibby i`ll be making tracks for the hills as fast as those size 10`s will carry me. :)

Re: "got in a fight with a 2 inch spider and tonights finds"

I was asked to retreive a ladies ring that fell under the front porch. One look under there an I told her to forget it. It looked like a Sci-Fi movie set with so many spiders. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!!!

Re: "got in a fight with a 2 inch spider and tonights finds"

I used to heat my home with wood. One day I was adding a piece of hickory to the fire and a spider jumped out and bit me on
the back of my hand.

It was a pretty big spider and I chased it across the living room floor. The damn thing got away.

I had a red mark on my hand for about 5 months after that.

Now we have gas logs. ;)

Tin,

nice group of artifacts.

Spiders; leave them alone and in most cases
they leave you alone (but the darn things will
get you when your sleeping). It's the dang ones you don't
see. Hate when that happens. >:(

Spiders a I are a no no.

have a good un.......................
