On that cruddy old button. Did a hot peroxide bath, still can't id it to date but it does look like a very old US Navy button. Can't make out the stars or braided edging on it either. It'll need some more cleaning.

Yep looks like that one except on mine the anchor appears relatively larger, nearer the edges and lower.
