Hey guys. So i got out for an hour and a half today. I basically must be doing something wrong because I am not finding any old coins or gold rings. I hunted in issaquah at a Lake Sammamish Park which should of been promissing. But all I kept hitting was junk. Am I doing something wrong? :icon_scratch: My Metal detector that I am using is a Tracker IV now when i used to metal detect 2 years ago, I was finding a lot more stuff. But now its just really hard finding things. Is it because my metal detector is malfunctioning? I did put it in the water a couple of times for the coil and people said 2 years ago that that was fine. Oh well here are my totals.

Totals for the day:
2 buttons
1 quarter
1 nickel
5 pennies
Then 5-6 pull tabs.

So all in all I got 35 cents in 1 and a half hours. But thats better then my last hunt which was 51 Cents in 3 hours. lol

If you're getting all that stuff, you're not going to miss any old coins either. You just haven't swung your detector over any as of yet!!

Have patience. Do research. And pretty soon you'll be scoring a few oldies as well.

By the way, I scored my first gold nugget with a $100 Radio Shack detector. The nugget was 26 grams in size! Just goes to show you one doesn't always need the latest and greatest machine to find good stuff.

The ground is full of old coins and gold rings, the clue is putting your coil over them!!! I doubt you are doing anything wrong if your finding coins. Slow down, dig those iffy signals, and be persistant. The next dig might just be a silver coin or a gold ring!!

your finding coins ! just not passing over the old coins yet , the tracker will find them if its over them , found my oldest silver last year useing my bounty hunter landstar  a 1908 barber dime :o
