Can't believe I got poached! Called my new branch that i have an account with, to check on my halves order. "Yes, it's in, but someone came in and bought an amount."
What the ??*%$$#!!!
Should i educate the teller, or is that just the way it goes? (This time I'm on the other side of the fence.)

If they were ordered specifically for you then you have a right to be mad and need to inform the teller that this should not happen again.

Where I order from they are strict about not giving the boxes to anyone but the intended recipient. I had tried coaxing a time or two early on and got rebuffed because the boxes were for someone else.

If they just order them and you happen to be the one who has been routinely buying them, but they were not specifically ordered for you then you have no beef.

This happened to me just 1 time, I then told the head teller to put my name & account # on my boxes when they came in to researve them for me, also to tell each teller not to sell the boxes to anyone except to the name on the box (me), it has worked since.

FFD, Yes, I did it but I only took a few I thought you would not mind. LOL. f :o No, for real that does suck. and It has happened to me. I just grin and bare it.

LOL GS, I had a feeling that you would confess... that sucks FFD sorry to hear that and ditto for what the others have said about talking to the tellers , hope that u can get things straighten around with your bank, Ed

When I went to pick up my two boxes, my teller told me that someone came in and asked for halves, she sold them $100 in rolled from a box.
10 minutes after I had called to verify my order in, poacher came back for more halves.
"I'm sorry, these coins are reserved for another customer", she told him.
She was very apologetic for her mistake.

Scored 5 40% out of those two boxes, placed an order for more next week. These Sring boxes have not been total stinkers, so I will chase them. Didn't do many boxes last year due to stink city, so concentrated mostly on dimes last year, and did pretty good, over 200 silvers out of about 35 boxes. FFD

Hmmmmm, I wonder what he found in those roll he got earlier. Must of been worth it for him to go back for the rest.

Do I smell Bens or Barbers >:(

Makes you wonder if the hundred he got were pretty good to convince him to go back and try and get more. :icon_scratch:

he probably only had $100 on him....searched and dumped and was on his way back for more......had a bank tell me they had $1500 worth but would not sell to me as they were reserved for the casino buses that ordered them...they should not give away anything ordered specifically for you

How long were the coins sitting there? If they are there longer than a day I think they are fair game for anyone else. I just picked up a box from a new bank and we had a misunderstanding on when the coins were going to be delivered. I thought they came in today and they had them since Wednesday. If the teller had sold some off I wouldn't be that upset. Getting poached depends on your relationship with the lead teller. I have one vault teller who actually called me when a customer ordered an odd amount so I could weigh the rolls before he handed them out. Is that poaching?

I asked the lead teller to call me when they came in. Once again, I was not called. I inquired on the day they came in. FFD

100 bucks is a hundred bucks. I'd be mad as all get out.
